The Development Core is the Center's incubator for new ideas. Co-directed by Angela O'Rand and Scott Lynch, the Development Core facilitates interdisciplinary communication, supports new research and recruits new members for the Center.
To compete for extramural funding, the Development Core not only reaches out to allied disciplines for joint study opportunities, but also administers a Pilot Grant Program which has awarded many seed grants since 2012 to junior faculty and senior scholars who are advancing CPHA's signature research themes.
The Core also promotes the DUPRI Seminar Series and offers topical workshops in population health and aging. Advancing research from germinating ideas to funded proposals and publications, the Development Core provides support to faculty at all levels and coordinates student population training and development activities and opportunities.
