Leadership & Structure

As one of two centers within the Duke University Population Research Institute (DUPRI), CPHA is organized into four cores that support the Center's activities: Administrative, Development, External Network and Innovation in Data & Measurement

Scott M. Lynch is CPHA’s Director and heads the Center’s Administrative Core. Professor Lynch oversees the Center’s administrative activities and works closely with the Center's other Core Directors.

Avshalom Caspi directs the Center’s Development Core, Herman Pontzer directs the External Network Core and V. Joseph Hotz administers the Innovation in Data & Measurement Core.

The DUPRI Executive Committee develops policy and oversees all the Institute’s activities, including those by CPHA. CPHA receives administrative support though DUPRI and coordinates research initiatives strategically with the Duke Population Research Center (DPRC) and Duke's Biodemography of Aging Research Unit (BARU).

Research Scholars at CPHA hold regular rank appointments at Duke and are also members of DUPRI. The scholars’ grant portfolios, publications, teaching posts and leadership in the health community demonstrate their unique contribution to the population sciences.
