Spotlight on DUPRI's Angela O'Rand and Scott M. Lynch

Demography of Aging was published in 1994 as the United States and the rest of the world faced the challenge of aging populations.  Written by experts from a variety of disciplines, it offered authoritative research on the emerging field of demography of aging.

A quarter of a century has passed and it’s successor in many ways is Future Directions for the Demography of Aging.

DUPRI’s  Angela O’Rand and Scott M. Lynch's research entitled “Socioeconomic Status, Health and Mortality in Aging Populations” is prominently featured as Chapter 3 in this recent (2018) publication.  They review the relationship across the lifespan, and the analytical challenges in doing so.  Their work suggests future directions in these domains.

Papers featured in the publication were presented and discussed at a public workshop held in Washington, DC , August 17-18, 2017. The activity was supported by contracts between the National Academy of Sciences and the National Institute on Aging of the National Institutes of Health.
