Duke’s DUPRI and UNC-CH co-host Add Health Parent Data Study Workshop August 14-15

The Duke University Population Research Institute (DUPRI) in collaboration with UNC-CH’s Carolina Population Center (CPC) are co-hosting an Add Health Parent Data User Workshop on August 14-15, 2019 at Duke University.

The Add Health Parent Study gathered social, economic, psychological, behavioral and health survey data from a probability sample of parents of Add Health respondents who were originally interviewed in 1995.  The Add Health Parent Study Data public use data was recently released though ICPSR. The full data set is available through a restricted data use agreement through CPC.

In addition to utilizing the most recent collected data, topics include an overview of study objectives; survey design; sampling features, structure and content; and guidelines for constructing and analyzing data sampling features. Hands-on exercises include linking Add Health Parent Study Data with the follow up interviews for life course and intergenerational analysis.

Workshop materials will be posted online at the conclusion of the 2-day event. Please contact AHPSWorkshop2019@duke.edu  to receive post workshop alert and link to the material.

The Add Health Parent Study was funded by the National Institute on Aging (NIA) and is co-directed by V. Joseph Hotz, Duke Population Research Institute (DUPRI); and Kathleen Mullan Harris, Carolina Population Center (CPC) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
