External Network Core

collaborate

Headed by Herman Pontzer, the External Network Core seeks to expand and grow collaborative and interdisciplinary activities that reach beyond our institutional boundaries. Building on the overlapping themes of health and human aging across the life course with the University of North Carolina’s Carolina Population Center, this Core seeks to cement and expand collaborative relationships in aging research in the Triangle region.

The External Network Core encourages ongoing, intellectual dialogue towards understanding the social and biological determinants of health across species through the inter-institutional Social and Biological Determinants of Health Working Group, presents collaborative research to our faculty and students though our weekly Seminar Series, and promotes participation in collaborative research in aging and cross-institutional seminars and conferences.
