Alp-Pop brings together scholars interested in population issues across several disciplines, among them demography, economics, and sociology. The conference emphasizes empirical rigor and innovation over a given topic or geographical area, and meets the challenges of interdisciplinary and international audiences. Submissions are particularly welcome on topics concerning: population, families, and the welfare state; population and economic development/institutions; finance and population issues. Alp-Pop scholars confer both formally and informally.

Réseau Espérance de Vie en Santé (REVES), the international network on health expectancies and the disablement process, invites you to submit abstracts for the network’s 25th meeting at the University of Texas at Austin, May 27, 2013 – May 29, 2013. The deadline for submitting abstracts is February 15, 2013.

Conference Details

The International Conference on Family Planning organizers invite abstracts on cutting edge research and program results directed at enabling individuals in the world, especially in low-income areas, to achieve their contraceptive and reproductive intentions. Of particular interest are abstracts on research demonstrating how family planning benefits and advances the health and wealth of people and nations and on high impact or best practices of family planning programs and service delivery models.

With support from the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health & Human Development and the Population Association of America, the Institute of Behavioral Science and University of Colorado Population Center are hosting the 4th annual Integrating Genetics and the Social Sciences Conference. The goal of this conference is to showcase behavioral and molecular genetic studies that enhance demographic and social scientific inquiry. Researchers from any of the biological or social sciences are encouraged to participate.

Conference Series on Aging in the Americas (CAA) is aimed at utilizing research to augment knowledge about dimensions of healthful aging for people of Hispanic and Latin American descent and fostering emerging scholars in the field.

Overview: Learn about the Possibilities for Business, Demographic, and Health Research using Non-Public Census Research Center Microdata. This event will include presentations of research undertaken with these Micro-Data and a discussion of how researchers interested in planning projects using them should proceed. Attenders will have the opportunity to discuss with the presenters the researcher's goals and planned projects, and to explore how they might use Non-Public Micro-Data to advance those.
